PGCE Language Requirements
To join the University of Cumbria PGCE, you must show that you can use English well enough to succeed on the course. This applies to all applicants, including those whose first language is not English. You’ll need to meet one of the following:

Accepted English language qualifications:
GCSE English Language at grade C/4 or above
IELTS with an overall score of 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each part)
TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 90 (with no less than 20 in each part)
- Duolingo English Test with a minimum of 90 on all sections (120 average overall)
Other recognised UK equivalencies (subject to approval)
